Diaz, Lufft Selected Heart Baseball Players of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Baseball Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon.

Kevin Diaz of Peru State was selected the Heart Pitcher of the Week, while Jake Lufft of Park University earned the Heart Player of the Week.

Lufft and the Pirates went 2-1 last week against Nelson (Texas).

The junior hit. 375 on the weekend and had two home runs and eight total RBI's. He also had three walks.

Diaz threw a complete game shutout in a 5-0 win over Central Christian for the Bobcats. In the victory, the junior had 10 strikeouts and allowed just three hits in seven innings of work.
