Baker Joins HAAC Trio in NAIA Top 25
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - With three of its teams already ranked among the top 25, the Heart of America Athletic Conference added a fourth team to the rankings as Baker climbed up to the #22 position as the latest NAIA Football Coaches' Poll was released on Monday evening.
The Wildcats joined #6 Missouri Valley, #8 MidAmerica Nazarene and #13 Benedictine to allow the HAAC join the Great Plains Athletic Conference as the only leagues in the NAIA with four ranked teams. Baker moved to 3-1 on the season last Saturday with a 31-7 win over Central Methodist and will have that ranking put to the test this week when it visits Missouri Valley on Saturday.
Each of the other three schools each moved up one spot from last week's rankings with two teams posting wins while the other had a week off. Missouri Valley won its first road contest of the season at Avila while Benedictine defended its home turf against Graceland. MNU took the week off before hosting Avila this week.
