Nate Collier Named NAIA National Player Of Week

Lamoni, IA - Yellowjacket strong safety Nate Collier (pictured #17) has been honored as HAAC and NAIA National defensive player of the week for his outstanding performance in Saturday's 45-13 win over Peru State College.

Collier tallied two touchdowns on the afternoon, one on an interception return and one on a fumble return. The defensive back forced another fumble and recorded five tackles including one for a 12 yard loss helping GU to the win.

"Nate played an outstanding game Saturday," remarked football head coach Jeff Douglas. "Last year Nate was a running back for us out of necessity."

"With more depth at that position this year, we were able to move him back to defense where we knew he could really shine," continued Coach Douglas. "Saturday's performance was a testament to his hard work and ability as a player."
