Pioneer Pair, Eagles' Carter Earn Weekly Honors
Ransburg led an offensive explosion for MNU on Saturday afternoon as the 5th-ranked Pioneers outscored #7 Benedictine, 49-39. The junior QB from Harrisonville, Missouri completed 28-of-40 passes for 243 yards and three TDs while also rushing 14 times for 72 yards and a touchdown.
The Pioneers claimed the defensive award for the third-straight week with Anderson (pictured left) claiming the honor in back-to-back weeks. A junior DB from Oklahoma City, Okla., Anderson blocked a field goal and returned a fumble 39 yards for a touchdown in the 2nd quarter before intercepting a pass late in the game to seal the victory. He finished the game with eight tackles (four solo).
Central Methodist picked up a 34-10 win over Peru State over the weekend and Carter (pictured right) made an
important contribution to that effort. A senior from El Cajon, Calif., Carter converted a 68-yard punt return for a touchdown early in the 4th quarter to give the Eagles control of the game. He averaged 25.0 yards per return on the day.
All three players will represent the conference for the NAIA weekly awards, which will be announced on Monday afternoon.
