Heart Announces 2021 Heart North Football All-Conference Selections

After concluding the 2021 regular season last Saturday, the Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its 2021 Heart Football North Division All-Conference teams on Thursday afternoon.

No. 3 nationally ranked Grand View's quarterback Johnny Sullivan was selected the 2021 Heart North Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year.

The senior had an impressive season for the Vikings, as he went 154-of-244 passing for 63.1-percent. 

He also threw for 1,903 yards with 18 touchdown passes and just three interceptions, he helped lead the Vikings to a perfect 11-0 overall record and 5-0 Heart North record this regular season to capture the Heart North Division Conference Championship.

Peru State's Devin Adams was selected the 2021 Heart North Defensive Player of the Year after a special sophomore season. 

The defensive lineman had 43 tackles for the Bobcats along with 17.5 tackles for loss and seven sacks. 

His teammate Quinton Hawkins was named the 2021 Heart North Freshman of the Year. The running back ran 161 times for 642 yards, averaging 4.0 yards per carry and he scored 11 rushing touchdowns. He also had six catches for 33 yards. The Peru State Bobcats went 7-4 on the season.

After leading the Culver-Stockton Wildcats to a school record 8-3 mark in 2021, head coach Tom Sallay earned the Heart North Coach of the Year honor. The 8-win season, was the most wins in a season in the 112-year history of the program.

Grand View University special teams coordinator Tyler Martin, was named the 2021 Heart North Assistant Coach of the Year.
