Williams, Pella of MNU and Stockard of CMU Capture Heart Football Players of the Week
In the first week of Heart football conference play, MidAmerica Nazarene’s Isaiah Williams and Grant Pella were selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week and Special Team's Player of the Week respectively, while CMU’s Davion Stockard was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
In the first week of Heart football conference play, MidAmerica Nazarene's Isaiah Williams and Grant Pella were selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week and Special Team's Player of the Week respectively, while CMU's Davion Stockard was named the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.
Williams and the Pioneers defeated the Eagles, 27-13, in Fayette. The freshman had nine catches for 168 yards and a touchdown in the victory. He also had an interception on special teams, when CMU attempted a fake punt. The China Spring, Texas native averaged 9.0 yards per catch and a had a long of 47-yards.
Fellow Pioneer, Pella, who is the Heart leader in punting, averaged 46.3 yards per put against CMU on three punts He had a long of 59 yards.
Stockard recorded a game-high 17 tackles for the Eagles. He also had a tackle for loss and forced a fumble. The St. Louis, Missouri product also had three pass breakups.
