The Heart Conference Network's "Game of the Week" is a new addition this season, featuring one selected game each week across various sports on the Heart Conference Network. The chosen game of the week will be announced every Monday at 8 AM.
The inaugural game of the week, will be the football matchup between William Penn University and No. 19 Benedictine College. The game is set to take place on Saturday at Benedictine, and highlights two teams that met in a defensive battle a year ago, with Benedictine escaping with a 10-7 win.
William Penn, led by second-year head coach Marc Benavidez, comes into the game riding high after a dominant 59-0 victory over William Woods University from the Heart South Division. Coach Benavidez's squad will look to maintain that momentum and avenge last year's close loss to Benedictine.
Meanwhile, the No. 19-ranked Benedictine Ravens, led by head coach Joel Osborn, enter this game following a significant victory over NAIA powerhouse No. 10 Morningside. The Ravens secured a dramatic 48-45 win with a goal-line stand on 4th and 1 with under five seconds to play.
As the first-ever "Game of the Week," this contest between William Penn and Benedictine is set to provide an exciting start to what promises to be a compelling series of matchups throughout the season. Fans can tune in to the Heart Conference Network to catch all the action live and witness who will emerge victorious in this much-anticipated clash.
