Ross, Sanes, Simpson Garner Heart Football Player of the Week Awards, presented by Musco

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Football Players of the Week, presented by Musco on Monday afternoon.

The following trio earned the awards this week including Cade Ross of Graceland who earned the Heart Offensive Player of the Week award, while Giovanoi Sanes earned the Heart Defensive Player of the Week award and Seth Simpson of No. 20 ranked Baker was named the Heart Special Teams Player of the Week.

Ross and the Yellowjackets won a close match up against Peru State last Saturday, 43-35. The junior quarterback threw for 379 yards and six touchdowns in the victory, with three of those TD's coming in the fourth quarter.

Sanes had five tackles for loss for the Spartans in their 30-14 win over Central Methodist. The senior also had two sacks and recorded a safety in the victory.

Simpson and the Wildcats defeated Missouri Valley, 26-16, at home on Saturday. The junior kicker nailed four field goals in the victory and accounted for 14 total points. His 33-yard field goal in the fourth quarter tied the game and then he later made a field goal to ice the game for Baker.
