Final Heart Football Player of the Week Awards of 2024 Announced

The final Heart of America Athletic Conference Football Players of the Week, presented by Musco were announced on Monday.

Destynd Loring of William Penn University was selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week, while Eli'Sha  Malveaux of No. 13 Baker earned the Heart Defensive Player of the Week award, while Joseph Lagafuaina of No. 9 Benedictine was selected the Heart Special Teams Player of the Week.

Loring and the Statesmen won their final game of the season last Saturday at Missouri Valley, 17-7.

In the victory, the junior running back ran for 203 yards on 30 carries, averaging 6.8 yards per rush and a touchdown.

Malveaux and the Baker Wildcats won their regular season finale with a 16-8 home win over Missouri Baptist. In the win, the sophomore defensive end recorded three sacks, eight tackles and forced a fumble.

In an 86-0 road win at William Woods, the sophomore had 117 return yards, which included a 98-yard free-kick return for a touchdown after a William Woods safety.
