Heart Announces 2025 South Football All-Conference Selections
The Heart of America Athletic Conference is proud to announce the 2025 Heart Football South Division All-Conference teams and postseason award winners.
The Heart South head coaches selected the following postseason awards and 1st, 2nd and Honorable Mention All-Conference teams.
2025 Heart South Player of the Year – Jackson Dooley – Benedictine College
Dooley led the Ravens offensive attack this season, completing 166 passes for 2,805 yards and 33 touchdowns. He also ran the ball 33 times for four touchdowns as the Benedictine offense averaged 51.18 points per game.
2025 Heart South Offensive Player of the Year – Xavier Ugorji – Benedictine College
Ugorji carried the ball 150 times this season for 1,034 yards and 15 touchdowns. He also caught eight passes and tallied one touchdown through the air as the Ravens racked up 236.1 rushing yards per game.
2025 Heart South Defensive Player of the Year – Isaiah Hasten – Benedictine College
Hastern compiled 23 tackles of the season but had a team-high seven interceptions and one fumble recovery to help lead the Benedictine defense which allowed just 16.82 points per game this season.
2025 Heart South Freshman of the Year – Sam Gonzalez – MidAmerica Nazarene University
Gonzalez led the Pioneers in receiving in 2025, catching 52 passes for a total of 828 yards and eight touchdowns. His longest touchdown reception of the year came on a 50-yard touchdown reception.
2025 Heart South Coach of the Year – Joel Osborn – Benedictine College
Coach Osborn and the Ravens posted an overall record of 10-1, going 6-0 in Heart of America South play to win a Heart South Championship. The Ravens outscored their opponents 563-185 on the season and received a first-round bye in the NAIA Football Championship Series.
2025 Heart South Offensive Assistant of the Year – CJ Collins – MidAmerica Nazarene University
Coach Collins and the Pioneers scored 33.73 points per game and averaged 363 yards of offense per game. The Pioneers posted an overall record of 7-4, while going 4-2 in Heart South play.
2025 Heart South Defensive Assistant of the Year – Trevor Strong – Benedictine College
Coach Strong and the Ravens allowed just 16.82 points per game this season and held opposing offenses to just 303.9 yards per game. The Ravens went 6-0 in Heart of America South play and have earned a first-round bye in the NAIA Football Championship Series.
