A Pair of Repeat Winners Highlight Heart Golfers of the Week

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Week Five award winners for Heart Golfers of the Week on Monday, as Cassandra Contreras of Central Methodist won her third Women's Golfer of the Week award of the season, while Pablo Hernandez of Missouri Valley was awarded his second Heart Men's Golfer of the Week honor of 2021.

Hernandez and the Vikings competed at the Heart of America Athletic Conference Preview tournament at the Golf Club at Creekmoor in Raymore, Missouri, home of the 2022 Heart Men's and Women's Golf Championships on April 25-26.

He shot two rounds under par at Creekmoor with a first round score of 70, followed by a 66 to win the event, which featured 58 golfers. Hernandez also won Heart Golfer of the Week back on September 13.

Contreras and the Eagles also took on the Heart Preview Tournament and like Hernandez, she took home first-place out of 67 total golfers. 

The Goodyear, Arizona native shot a first round 77 and then fired a 72 to win the individual crown. Contreras also won Heart Golfer of the Week back on September 20 and October 4.
