Heart Men’s Soccer Players of the Week – September 20

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced its Heart Men's Soccer Player of the Week awards on Monday afternoon, as Alessandro Salvadego of Central Methodist was selected the Heart Offensive Player of the Week and Fernando Contreras of Clarke University is the Heart Defensive Player of the Week. 

Salvadego and the No. 2 ranked CMU Eagles went 2-0 last week with a 5-0 win over Culver-Stockton and a 10-0 road win at Mount Mercy.

The Belluno, Italy product scored four goals last week in those wins, including a hat trick against Mount Mercy. His four goals came on 12 shot attempts.

Contreras came off the bench for the Pride in the second half of their win at Graceland and made a pair of saves to secure the 3-1 victory.

He started the next game against Park and made 10 saves in the 1-1 double overtime result against the Pirates.
