2021 Heart Men’s Soccer All-Conference Teams Announced

The Heart of America Athletic Conference announced on Thursday afternoon its 2021 Heart Men's Soccer All-Conference teams and major award winners.

Alessandro Salvadego of No. 1 nationally ranked Central Methodist came away with three major awards, as he was named the 2021 Heart Men's Soccer Conference Player of the Year, Offensive Player of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.

Teammate Marcos German was selected the 2021 Heart Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Year and CMU head coach Alex Nichols was named the 2021 Heart Men's Soccer Coach of the Year for the fourth-straight season (2018, 2019, 2020, 2021).

Baker University freshman forward Gyorgy Kamaras was named the 2021 Heart Men's Soccer Freshman of the Year.

Salvadego had a fantastic first season with the Eagles, as he scored 17 goals overall and 14 in Heart play. He finished the regular season with the most goals scored by a player in the NAIA. He also recorded five assists this season and was a perfect 4-for-4 on penalty kicks.

German and the Eagles defense have recorded 10 shut out victories along the way to their 16-0 perfect regular season. He has also scored six goals this season and recorded four assists. 

Dating back to 2018, Coach Nichols has led the Eagles to 41-straight Heart regular season victories and two NAIA national championships in 2018 and 2019.

Kamaras led the Wildcats with 15 goals scored this season, 10 coming in Heart action. He also added six assists this season and his points total of 25 in Heart play is second in the conference.

The CMU Eagles have earned the No. 1 seed in the upcoming 2021 Heart Men's Soccer Conference Tournament.
