Lindenwood, Baker claim HAAC Track and Field Titles
The second day of the 2011 Heart of America Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships saw Lindenwood University earn the women's title and Baker University grab the men's title at Culver-Stockton's Richeson Track and Field Complex inside Ellison Poulton Stadium Saturday afternoon.
In the men's division, Baker scored 204 points to win the men's division, while in the women's division, Lindenwood scored 202 points to capture the title.
Coach of the Year honors were awarded to Lindenwood's Ed Harris on the women's side, and Zach Kindler was the recipient on the men's side. The men's male most valuable performer went to Central Methodist sprinter Edward Stewart. Stewart was also scored the most points in the meet on the men's side with 30. The women's most valuable performer was awarded to William Jewell's Sara Shippey. She also had a busy weekend, scoring 33 points overall for the Cardinals.
