No. 8 Ranked Elijah Hynes Earns Heart Men’s Wrestler of the Week

No. 8 nationally ranked 197-pound wrestler Elijah Hynes of Missouri Valley College earned this week's Heart of America Athletic Conference Men's Wrestler of the Week after an impressive performance at the Hastings Open over the weekend.

The sophomore went 5-0 at the Hastings Open and won the 197-pound weight class, with three victories via pin.

The Broken Arrow, Oklahoma native defeated Nolan Moornan who wrestled unattached via Pin in 1:23, then defeated Tre Dar or Nebraska-Kearney via Pin in 5:32.

Hynes continued with a third Pin in 5:00 over Augustana's Sam McEnelly. He followed that up with a victory over Northwestern College's Jose Sanchez and in the final a 1-0 decision over Mason Garcia.
