Heart Cross Country Runner of the Week Awards Swept by Benedictine - Week 1

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Heart of America Athletic Conference is pleased to announce the Heart of America Cross Country Runners of the Week.

Men's Runner of the Week

Joshua Melendez of Benedictine is the Heart's first Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week winner. Melendez competed on Saturday at the Baker Wildcats Classic and took home a second place finish in a field of 62 runners with a time of 24:49.28.

Women's Runner of the Week

Elizabeth Skendzel of Benedictine is this week's winner of the Heart of America Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week award. In just her second collegiate competition, Skendzel took home the Baker Wildcat Classic first place medal on Saturday with a time of 22:59.27.
