Saturday's Heart Game of the Week featured a nationally ranked softball doubleheader as No. 10 Missouri Baptist and No. 13 Grand View split a pair of tightly contested games at Spartan Field in St. Louis, Mo.
Missouri Baptist claimed game one by a 4-2 final before Grand View answered with a 4-2 victory in game two, as both teams showcased balanced performances throughout the afternoon.
In the opening game, Grand View struck first with an early run and maintained a narrow edge into the middle innings. Missouri Baptist responded late, using a key rally in the sixth inning to shift momentum. The Spartans capitalized on timely hitting to take the lead and held off a late push from the Vikings to secure the 4-2 win.
Game two followed a similar script, with Grand View once again building an early advantage. Missouri Baptist battled back to even the score in the middle innings, setting up a competitive finish. The Vikings delivered in a pivotal late-game moment, regaining the lead and closing out the contest to earn the split with a 4-2 victory.
