Heart Game of the Week Recap: Central Methodist vs. Missouri Valley

Missouri Valley earned a 56–41 victory over Central Methodist on Wednesday night in Marhsall, MO, featured in the Heart of America Athletic Conference Game of the Week, presented by Olathe Chamber of Commerce.
Central Methodist jumped out to an early lead before Missouri Valley responded with a strong first-quarter run to take a 15–8 advantage. The Eagles battled back in the second quarter, trimming the deficit and heading into halftime trailing by just one, 23–22.
The teams traded momentum throughout the third quarter, with Missouri Valley holding a 36–32 edge entering the final period. The Vikings then opened the fourth quarter with an extended scoring run and limited Central Methodist's offensive opportunities down the stretch to create separation.
Missouri Valley finished with a rebounding advantage and held Central Methodist to 29.3% shooting from the field. Central Methodist remained within striking distance through three quarters but was unable to close the gap late.
With the win, Missouri Valley improves to 13–9 overall and 10–5 in Heart conference play. Central Methodist moves to 14–9 on the season and 9–6 in conference action as the race in the Heart standings continues.
