Central Methodist Duo Earns Heart Player of the Week Awards
No. 8 nationally ranked Central Methodist University women’s soccer team went 2-0 to open up Heart of America Athletic Conference play last week and captured both Heart Player of the Week awards as a result, as Andrea Villar earned her second Heart Offensive Player of the Week award of 2021 and teammate Laura Riesenbeck was selected the Heart Defensive Player of the Week.

Villar also captured this award back on September 6. This past week, the senior from Madrid, Spain scored five goals on the week.
She scored the game-winner in the victory over Culver-Stockton on September 15, then followed that up with four goals and an assist in the victory at Mount Mercy. She scored the five goals on just 12 total shot attempts.
Riesenbeck led CMU's backline with two shutout victories last week, a 1-0 win over Culver-Stockton and an 11-0 road win at Mount Mercy.
The Beverstedt, Germany defender also scored the opening goal in the win over Mount Mercy in the second minute.
